Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is giving Quebec a special carbon tax deal.

And nobody wants to talk about it in Parliament – not even the Opposition.

But you can get the word out.

Trudeau says all provinces are required to pay a similar carbon tax. But here are the facts.

Quebec’s carbon tax currently costs $57 per tonne. Trudeau is making you and every other Canadian pay a carbon tax that costs $80 per tonne.

Here’s what that means. Carbon taxes on gas and diesel are about four cents per litre lower in Quebec. And carbon taxes on natural gas are about five cents per cubic metre lower in Quebec.

And it gets worse.

By 2030, the federal carbon tax will cost $170 per tonne, while Quebec’s will cost an estimated $97 per tonne. You’ll pay a carbon tax that’s 14 cents per litre of gas higher than in Quebec.

Does that sound fair to you?

There’s another problem. We haven’t heard a single MP in the House of Commons stick up for you and call out Trudeau for giving Quebec a special deal.

But you can get the word out NOW.

  1. Magical climate change, huh? How it always works out to suit a convenient political purpose. Well, friendly reminder to Quebec: Even if you are getting a ‘sweet’ deal, our no-balls emperor is the reason you are still being impoverished.

In addition, this is another ‘divide and conquer’ tactic: To have us angry at Quebec for getting a lower rate when we should be angry at those causing this mess in the first place.
