Chart of the Day (CotD) Norway Covid and Excess Deaths, by Eldric Vero

This CotD was inspired by the following:

1)      NewsinEnglish.no “Corona-Related Deaths Rise among Eldely ” (see link: https://www.newsinenglish.no/2023/12/07/new-corona-variant-spreading-in-norway/ ).   From the article: “The death toll from the Corona virus and its variants stood at 5,313 as of late August 2023. More than 55,000 Norwegians have been hospitalized since the pandemic was confirmed in March 2020. FHI reported that a total of 4,341,281 Norwegians were fully vaccinated as of January 2023, equal to around 92 percent of the adult population, many of whom have since received their fourth booster shots and are now eligible for a fifth. Researchers in Norway are trying to find out why so many Norwegians are suffering long-term effects of Covid virus infection, so-called “Long Covid. Most are plagued by a lack of energy, some for months or even years now, and it may have something to do with their genes”.

2)      Norwegian Institute of Public Health “Coronavirus Vaccine Information for the Public” (see link:https://www.fhi.no/en/id/corona/coronavirus-immunisation-programme/coronavirus-vaccine/).    From the NIPH website: “The vaccine contains the recipe (messenger RNA, or mRNA) for the characteristic spikes on the coronavirus encased in small fat bubbles. The body uses this recipe to make harmless copies of these spikes for the immune system to practise on. In this way, the immune system learns to recognise the coronavirus spikes and can defend the body if it becomes infected with the virus.  The messenger RNA is rapidly broken down by the body and has no effect on the body’s genetic material.  The coronavirus vaccines act to prevent disease. They cannot cure an ongoing illness.”

The author of the CotD has combined analyses of Covid-19 and Excess Deaths (all causes) as these are related.

Panel 1   The first graph is a construct by the author as a standard CotD presentation which illustrates Covid-19 related deaths (CRDs) and vaccinations.  Norway Covid-19 Related Death (CRD) rate was relatively low from March 2020 to November 2021.  The vaccination program started in late December 2020 which coincided with a tripling of the CRD rate into mid-2022.  Observe the accelerated rise of CRDs almost immediately after the booster program was initiated followed by a meteoric rise in CRDs starting in February 2022 about 4 to 6 months later. The vaccine-to-deaths correlation of near 100 percent is clearly visible. The CRD rate peaked at 203 (29 per day) Norwegian citizens dying during the third week in March 2022, which was heartbreaking and absolutely appalling to say the least.  The author could find an official statement by the NIPH indicating “the vaccines are safe and effective”.

 

Panel 2   Observe the characteristic cyclical nature of deaths or all-cause mortality since 2015.  The “Blue” line represents data prior to March 2020 and the “Red” line represents data since the SARS CoV-2 pandemic was initiated in March 2020.  The “Green” line represents the “Expected” deaths (CotD Model) based on historical averages.  The author has utilized the data for the six year period January 2015 to December 2020 in order to calculate an average normalized curve for Weekly Deaths.  The Expected (CotD Model) deaths incorporates an average 0.125 percent growth factor which may appear conservative, however, this approach appears to be a good match to the overall trend.

 

Panel 3   This presents the magnified portion (January 2020 to October 2023) of the graph in Panel 2.   The “Orange” line represents “Excess Deaths” which is calculated by subtracting Expected Deaths from Official Deaths.

 

Panel 4   Based on the data and this author’s model, there have been 8,903 Excess Deaths since the start of Covid-19 injections in January 2021. This compares to 8,848 excess deaths over the same time frame as per the https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/cumulative-excess-deaths-covid?country=~NOR website.  Essentially 100 percent of Excess Deaths have occurred since initiation of the vaccine injection program.
