Danielle Smith is now officially the premier of Alberta after being sworn in to the role on Tuesday morning.

Smith became premier and minister of intergovernmental relations after swearing the oaths of office read out by Lt.-Gov. Salma Lakhani.

“I solemly affirm,” Smith replied.
