On Saturday April 2, my birthday, the Delta Hospice Society and Our Lord Jesus Christ determined the fate of the society by an overwhelming margin of 76% in favor of palliative care and the right to die in peace, love and tranquility. The end of life should not and will not be determined by the Pro Euphasia group. Not now, not ever. That is left in the hands of God our Savior.

Dear Salvatore,

I’m writing to all members of Delta Hospice Society to thank you for your attendance, participation, and voting during the Annual General Meeting, which concluded this past Saturday.

3,122 (76%) Delta Hospice Society members voted in favour of constitutional and bylaw amendments, including:

“Delta Hospice Society is committed to a traditional understanding of the principles of palliative care, which excludes Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD), prohibiting the Society from engaging in any MAiD-related activities, and requiring all new applicants and renewing members to demonstrate a commitment to this traditional understanding of the principles of palliative care.” (AGM meeting package.)

Additionally, Delta Hospice Society members voted in favour of appointing the following members to serve on the DSH Board of Directors:

Elizabeth Lawson	Director. Retired teacher
Lorena Angus	Director. Retired teacher

I am pleased to report that Rev. Danielle Martell returns as Vice-President, Mark Ruelle continues as Treasurer, and Jim Canil has been appointed Secretary to the Board. I am honoured to have been elected President, Delta Hospice Society.

Finally, it is my sincere hope that there can be peace and healing among our membership, so that we may get back to our true focus—providing compassionate, traditional palliative care for families and individuals in need.
