The death toll has now climbed to at least 290 people.

Sri Lankan authorities have made 24 arrests in connection to the horrific Easter Sunday bombings in the city of Colombo.

The bombings targeted Christians, with three churches and three hotels devastated by suicide bombers.

Now, Sri Lankan authorities are saying they believe that National Thowheed Jamath – an Islamist terror group – is behind the bombings. Sri Lankan Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne told reports that the government believes the group is responsible for the attacks.

According to the Wall Street Journal“Police said they discovered 87 detonators, apparently abandoned, at a private bus stand in the capital. The government has ordered round-the-clock security at all churches.”

As of yet, no group has claimed responsibility for the terror attack.
