A British library has gained some unwanted attention after pictures from a lewd performance for kids leaked beyond its target audience.
It started with “Drag Queen Story Hour” at public libraries, and has degraded into this.
An adult man in a rainbow costume, with a sex toy between his legs and nipples cut out of the torso has been caught dancing in front of children to encourage reading at a public library in London.
“Caught” might be the wrong word to use, because the dildo wielding monkey was there with the permission of Redwood Libraries. In fact, they hired him to do this.
The lewd performance was exposed to families only after images were posted to social media. The families were understandably outraged, despite a public apology being issued by the library saying it was an accident.
While the library says it was unintentional, it’s pretty clear they were supportive of the horrifying performance.
In the story (which you can read here), I have attached screenshots of comments made by the library saying “Monkey’s out of control. But when you’ve got it, flaunt it I suppose.”
This was for kids. To “help them read,” during the Summer Reading Challenge.
Public libraries need to be held accountable for deplorable programs like this. There is no excuse for this.
