British Columbia is forbidding residents who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine from hosting anyone in their homes or attending gatherings in other people’s homes over the holiday season.
“If you are unvaccinated or have members of your family who are unvaccinated, we cannot have personal gatherings in those settings right now,” provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said at a press conference on Dec. 17.
The move is part of the latest revision to public health orders to “address rising COVID-19 case counts and keep people safe,” according to the province.
Other new COVID-19 measures include limiting indoor personal gatherings to the household plus 10 guests, or one other household, provided that all who attend are aged 12 and above and are fully vaccinated.

Fact is the vaxed are catching and spreading Covid 19 as much as the unvaxed. Fact is in other nations where Omicron is running course the symptoms are mild for both the vaxed and the unvaxed and it appears NOBODY is dying from it.
So failed Dr. Henry, Omicron=Common Cold variant and in B.C. cases may be rising but hospitalizations and deaths are dropping as a percentage of cases. NO HOSPITALS ARE OVERRUN JUST A THEY NEVER WERE IN B.C.! The fact our government is still laying off nurses and health techs due to them not taking your unconstitutional vax mandates tell us all who can critically think all we need to know. WE ARE SICK OF THE BULLSHIT, FEAR AND LIES, SO WHY DO NT YOU JUST PISS OFF!?!
Kelowna General Hospital has been over capacity for 20 years.
Just an FYI on hospital beds and capacity. Whether you have private or socialized healthcare all hospitals run beds numbers at likely between 75-90% capacity. In other words for example, a hospital has a track record of say averaging at any give time say 500 beds being filled and say 50 beds in ICU being filled. The slack availability of beds at any given time will be if say based at 75% capacity a total of 667 beds and 67 beds in ICU or at 90% capacity a total of 555 beds and 56beds in ICU.
What this explains is it costs money to keep beds available and if these beds are not being used rather routinely it’s money tossed away. So the administrators and worse boot liking lying media hype up the story of near capacity…WELL NO SHIT SHERLOCK! If a hospital say averages 500 patients in beds and 50 in ICU at any given time, WHY THE HELL WOULD THE HAVE 700-800-1,000 beds available and 70-80-100 beds in ICU available? They won’t for it’s many tens of millions of dollars wasted on holding empty beds /wards.
If a situation arises where the typical allotment of say 500 beds and 50 ICU beds runs short the hospital can quickly bring up sealed off beds/wards and add more ICU beds if need be. If they for some reason can’t do this they will transfer patients already checked in to other hospitals and or assess if they can early release some patients all the while as they open up more beds/wards and or more ICU beds.
Please folks DON’T FALL FOR THIS NARRATIVE OF HOSPITALS RUNING AT 100% capacity and thus out of beds. It’s a rare case where they may ever have to come near such a situation for again they just open up more beds/wards if need be or transfer patients to other hospitals.
BTW if you still want to believe the story of hospitals at capacity THEN WHY THE HELL DID THEY LAY OFF NURSES, HEALTH TECHS AND DOCTORS WHO BY THEIR GOD GIVEN RIGHT CHOSE NOT TO TAKE THE USELESS AT PROTECTING YOU FROM COVID 19 VACCINES!?! THINK FOLKS! USE YOUR GOD GIVEN BRAINS TO THINK FOR ONCE AND STOP BEING COMPLIANT LITTLE SHEEP!
