Between 80,000- 90,000 abortions are performed in Canada each year. It has been this way for decades. Canada is among the very few countries that permits abortion at full term. The founder of abortion policy(in truth a non-policy) is ex-Liberal prime minister Pierre Trudeau.
The person assigned as overseer for mass abortion in Canada was Dr. Henry Morgantaler, who fought numerous legal battles aimed at expanding abortion rights. As a youth during World War II, Morgentaler was imprisoned at the Łódź Ghetto and later at the Dachau concentration camp.
Morgantaler opened his first abortion clinic in 1969 in Montreal, challenging what he saw as an unjust law placing burdensome restrictions on women seeking abortions. He was the first doctor in North America to use something called vacuum aspiration. It is said that Morgantaler personally performed 5000 abortions — at a time when abortion was illegal in our country.
